I am so sick of you...

This song is a bunch of loops. You added some pretty cool ambient synths on top of them, but its all Garageband loops when you boil it down.

1. The original bass lick [80s Dance Bass Synth 01]
2. The drum track at :32 [Electronic Drum Beat 02]
3. The drum track at 1:04 [Club Dance Beat 30]
4. The pad at 1:37 [80s Dance Pad 01]

If you're fine with the fact that you exert barely any creative energy thinking of your own melody, than I guess you can ignore this review. But the fact that so many people think you're the most amazing musician sickens me, when so much of your music is modified loops. So many audio artists on NG have so much more talent than you, and yet you get the limelight.

I'm sorry for being an asshole, and a nitpicker, but that's just how I feel.

FatKidWitAJetPak responds:

Lol loops.

Nice

Its smooth, and loops great. I would pull the bass up an octave. Its almost impossible to hear its melody.

Thanks for the pointer,

Add something

Personally, I dislike basses that are synths, that sort of sound like a real bass but aren't... so I would turn down the treble and the mid frequency on the bass, and then add a higher melody at around :14. The drums sound excellent though, reverb worked perfectly.

la-yinn responds:

Guess that's a matter of taste. I like a consistant bassline. ;)

I think it's more or less what you're aiming for. The bass can be the main instrument (like in this loop), or it can be a side instrument, to backup the drums, or an electrical guitar. This song was more or less to test reverb and bass boost effects, heh.

Thanks for the review! ;)

Awesome

Its so short, but if you used this as the base of a song, it would be so kick ass. To answer your question. Not really. It's to processed to be a rock song, but its still pretty awesome

mikkim responds:

Thanks for the 8 and answer!

Awesome

I love the overpowered, bitcrushed feel the whole song has. Its like a wall of sound... love it.

WritersBlock responds:

Thanks. So the loudn'ess didn't get to you? That's cool. :D

Best DnB song on Newgrounds

This song is amazing. I can't even imagine the amount of work that must've been amazing. It disgusts me that artists like FatKidWithaJetPack have higher scores than you. This song deserves at least a 4.2. Brilliant

Nav responds:

:D Thanks!

This song actually had a 4.5, but once a song gets on the top 30, it's score goes down a lot!

Hm...

Satanic much?

Ragdey-Anne responds:

Bastard! You can't review your own song! Some people...

BRILLIANT!

The drums had too much mid frequency, but its like anti-religious Devo... so cool.

Soundgasm responds:

haha
Nice metaphor.

And I ripped paper into the mic for the snare.

Pure sickness

Some else used a crunchy drum loop. YES! Great song. It was almost like a slowed down breakbeat. The 80s pads were awesome. The cutting off sounded great. There was loop however, that sounded like a guitar... that cuts in at 1:30. Also, I would've brought the original bass into the mix again at 1:50, and just change the melody. But the choppy transition at 2:04 kept me from giving it a ten. But this is still a kick ass track.

aocrkid responds:

lol that was real guitar and I agree

Perfect

Honestly.

BinaryGuy responds:

I still want to work the end a bit, but thank you man!

CRACK THAT WHIP!
